A section dealing with plumbing issues has been added. The first entry is the restructuring of the abs plumbing under the kitchen sink to regain a lot of space for the purpose of adding additional storage areas. This project deals with correcting a leak in the PEX lines, changing the heavy stiff slideout hose to a better design. The specialized and limited RV ABS plumbing is also changed over to standard ABS fittings available at any building center.
The information related to the CAT 3126 engine HEUI pump from the Yahoo sites on the Safari coach has been extracted. Clicking on the message in the index will lead to the discussion. There may be extraneous information because some posts can get off topic, but for those interested it is in the link.
Additionally there is the full service manual for the 3126E engine. This is a later series engine or built for the military and only varies slightly if at all from the B.
If anyone wants to download these files or any others on this site and post them on the http://SafariFriends.org site, please feel free to do so.
It has been a few weeks since the last update on this site. I have been working on three issues, the fuel system (air leaks), adding a centrifuge bypass oil filter and changing the cabin AC and Heating thermostats from the old system to LCD digital control.
All of the above are waiting on some parts that have shipped but not arrived and I will post on these once the work is complete.
In working on the fuel system, which involved replacing the fuel lines (2 lines 90 ft in total) I discovered a serious potentially life threatening problem with the propane lines on my coach. The lines were original and therefore 20 years old. This presentation shows the failures and my serve to alert others of a potential problem.
Two topics have been added to the Resources section: Shocks and Fuel Gauges. These are downloadable zip files. You can read them on a cell phone by clicking on a page in the zip file and the browser will automatically open the file.
These are separate topics containing only information on either shocks or fuel gauge postings.
A new section “Resources” under the Trouble Shooting and Documentation heading has been added. This will be a source for extracted topics from the archived Safari groups.
If you would like specific topics please post in the comments a specific topic and I will extract the information and add the files as a new topic. Under the first topic there are several hundred posts about various steering box issues. Some of the posts may be off topic slightly but that is due to the people posting.
Again, if you want to be notified of new information please make an account as the information will not be posted in all the forums in the near future.
Update information: In the near future new projects will NOT be posted on the Face Book and IRV2 sites.
The reason for this change is many people have accounts on all these sites and the content overlaps. For example, there is a Safari International site and Safari Motor Home site, and Safari Friends site and so forth. Besides adding to the work to notify mulitple sites via postings, this also adds to the digital clutter by having the same postings in multiple sites.
For those that are interested in following new projects and other information on this site, please create an account. Update notifications are automatically sent to everyone with a valid account. This is not a revenue site so the only thing the email account is used for is new post notifcations. Those that have a site account will receive an email that new material has been added. It is not necessary to have an account to view the site.
This message will be attached to the next few posts about projects to alert those that have an interest in continuing with this sites information.

This project adds a holder for the counter plates from the stove.

Addendum 1:
This link below is the primary project for the Addendum above, included for those that want access to both projects.
There have been a number of posts asking for help to troubleshoot a failure of the engine to turn over and others even though it turns over will not start, by some new Safari owners. While there are differences between RV models the principles are common.
Power from the ignition switch on the dash usually engages a relay/solenoid to provide high amperage current to a bus bar distribution system. The engine starter on the pushers are supplied power by a solenoid activated by a sense wire from the key ignition. The current draw is far to high to run directly to the starter solenoid as it often does in a car, therefore an interposing solenoid supplies power to the engine starter circuit via a solenoid to the starter motor Bendix which pulls in the contacts on the engine starter, turning over the engine.
The following is just a visual-audible presentation of where and how these solenoid circuits work, which is the requirement to troubeshooting the problem.
