A three part presentation has been added on how to repair the Cable Caddy power reel. The power take up was retained, but the power transfer slip rings and brushes were replaced with a heavy gauge 50amp male and female plug. There is a detailed description on how to repair the end plates and remount the Power Reel system. I was unable to find parts to repair the power reel and so changed the design to what is a safer and more reliable method.
If there are presentations that you would like to see, please leave a comment on the next one you would like created. I will eventually do all the listed work, but the order is not set in stone. If this would be a help to others than pass it on or make a suggestion please. If you want to be notified of new presentations please add your name to the mail list.
A presentation on creating an LED light for the hand rail from the filament base of the original bulb has been added. This procedure will work with any bulb base.
A presentation on how to disassemble and repair the Kwikee steps using pins and bushings instead of rivets is posted. The manuals are at the end of the page, the parts list is in the video.
A new presentation was added on replacing the florescent lighting with LED surface pot lights. There are not the strip lights inserted into the existing fixtures, but a self contained LED light system. I originally used LED strip lights from a roll of LED lights but decided to replace those with the current modular lights. There is a great deal more light than the previous strip lighting. The presentation shows all steps and products to accomplish this change out.
I removed the linked hot spot on the tree branches. It was becoming very time consuming to maintain the index alignment of the project and I felt that that time could be better spent in documenting additional projects. The branch and sub branch structure remains the same and can be accessed from the menu on the right hand side.
The magnifier is now working. The structure of the site is set with a few minor improvements to be added. You can now link to the final project by hovering over the round purple dot then move up to the link shown and click to go to the next level. Or you can navigate by the menus or by the navigator on the right.
Now more of the effort can be put into the various project rather than the creation of the site and getting the architecture working. There is what is sold as easy, and simple to setup and then there is the reality of what it takes to actually do the work. There is a big disconnect between these two positions, in my experience.
The next presentation created will be on the Fail to Start problem that I had on the 3126B Cat Engine, and 2000 Safari Continental. Some of my work may help others, and the areas that I wasted a lot of time due to oversight can be quickly stepped around in the troubleshooting steps by others.
This site is not a competition to any other site. It is simply a documentation of work that had to be done on Toonces the motor coach. Toonces had a lot of sub-talent individuals that contributed their lack of skills at various RV repair shops to bring him to the verge of near write off and the scrap yard. Some of this corrective work done may be of benefit to others.
The diagrams in the Project are difficult to read. There will be a magnifier function in the near future. There is a function in the software that is not working correctly and a support ticket is being waited on. For now there are just two presentations, time and the future allotment of time permitting, more presentations will be added.
